October 3rd week - RS Announcements

1. The General Relief Society Broadcast from Salt Lake City will be shown in the “Small Chapel” at the Interstake Center on Saturday, September 24th at 7PM. Following the broadcast, the RS will be serving dessert and have socializing in the small ward cultural hall. (This location is a change from prior announcements, and from the flyer that went out last Sunday.)


2. The mission president’s wife is expecting a baby boy. The missionaries are collecting baby clothes in good condition to help them.

3. This Sunday will be a regular Sunday service for our ward and that we will hold Fast & Testimony meeting the Sunday following General Conference.

4. The Next Relief Society activity is Super Saturday on November 5th, so save the date!. Look at our samples and sign-ups out side the RS room on Sunday.

5. Juliane Pew is asking if anyone has quart size canning jars they would like to get rid of. She is doing a project at work and wanted to see if I can find some.

Ward Fast & Testimony Meeting (Sunday Oct. 9th)

Please note that Fast & Testimony meeting for the Walnut Creek 2nd Ward will be held on Sunday, Oct. 9th and not this Sunday (Sept. 25th) as previously stated on the Stake & Ward Calendars.




Also, General Conference is the first weekend in October (Oct. 1-2).
 
 

RS Announcements 9/16

2. The Mormon Tabernacle choir performed a 9/11 memorial broadcast with Tom Brokaw as their special guest. You can watch it on LDS.org

3. Vanessa Jackson had her baby boy – Quintin Paul on Wed 9/7, weighed 7lbs 7oz, and 20” long

4. Don’t forget – there are NO MEETINGS at our chapel this coming Sunday 9/18 as it is Stake Conference at the ISC in Oakland at 10am. The adult session is at 7pm on Saturday.

5. Since we no longer have an activities committee in the ward, all the auxiliaries will be helping to put on ward activities. If you would like to help with the ward Halloween party on Saturday, 10 / 29, please tell Kristine Olsen. ( If you can’t help with this activity, then be thinking of which of the other three activities you will help with later: the Christmas party, Pancakes in the Park, and the 24th of July picnic.)
