Need more time to chat and get acquainted at church? Then be sure to join us at a "Linger Longer" right at noon this coming Sunday after church in the cultural hall.
Please bring a plate of hor d'oevres or finger food that can be eaten easily while standing. (Just a thought: at noon folks will probably be hungrier for protein than for sweets.)
3rd hour teachers: please end your class right on time (or maybe a minute or two earlier) so we can meet up promptly and also so that children can be quickly picked up from primary and their teachers won't be delayed in joining us.
We will only have about 30 minutes to linger so that we can clean up and clear out before the Lafayette ward Sacrament meeting begins at 1:00 pm. See you there!

2nd week Relief Society messages
- If you did not receive the book "Daughters in my Kingdom - The history and work of Relief Society" in Relief Society today, please look for Beth Carlson on Sunday, we would like all of our Sisters to have a copy.
- The ward will be updating all the membership records at laptops in the hallways on Sundays. Please make sure YOUR personal cell phone number and email address are added to the ward records so that the Relief Society can be in contact with you.
- Our ward temple night will be on Wednesday night, November 16, for the 7 pm session. The Bishop is trying out Wednesday to see if it is a better day for folks than Friday. Unfortunately that conflicts with the Book Club that was scheduled to meet that night. Jessica Peers will be emailing Book club participants to set a new date.
- Next Sunday(11/13) is the Primary program in Sacrament meeting. Ponder who you may be able to invite to enjoy the program with you.
- We have "Meals in a bag" kits from our Super Saturday. They make good emergency meals for yourself or others. If you would like to purchase some, here are the particulars:
- Trader Joe's Lasagna, $6.75 each (Please give money to Brandi Cullimore)
- Salsa Soup $7.85 each, (money to Shelley Fosse)
- Chicken corn chowder $6.25 each (money to Linda Carlson)
11/13 - Sunday's lesson
Sunday's lesson is #41: "I Have Finished My Course"
1 and 2 Timothy; Titus
Our beloved Paul is nearing the end of his life when he writes these 3 epistles. What a great and effective teacher and stalwart missionary he was! I have a list of people I want to meet when I pass to the other side, and Paul is definitely on that list!
We've all heard his "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7)
What does this REALLY mean to you and is there a difference between "finishing my course" and "winning the race"?
In this week's reading, look for:
1. What it means to learn and teach true doctrine (1 Tim 4; 2 Tim. 1-4, Titus 1). Look out for the signs of apostacy that Paul describes. Do you recognize any of these signs today?
2. What it means to be a "true example of the believers" (1 Tim 4:12).
3. How we can follow after righteousness (1 Timothy 6; Titus). In Titus alone, there are over 40 qualities that enable us to "lay hold on eternal life." If you can find and email me 20 of them by Saturday night, I will bring you a treat on Sunday!
